Voix active vs passive

Past perfect continuous form
Had + been + V-ING
Duration before the past
You had been waiting there for more than two hours when she finally arrived.
Had you benne waiting there….
You had not been waiting there for more ….
Active / passive
Chef Jones had been preparing the dinners for two hours before you areived… Had + been + V-ING
Dinners had been being prepared by Chef Jones for two hours before he moved. Had + been + being + v-EN
Past continuous vs past perfect continuous
Si la durée n’est pas indiqué, préférer le past continuous : was helping.
Le past continuous met l’accent sur les actions interrompues alors que le past perfect continuous met l’accent sur la durée d’un événement passé.
He was tired because he was exercising so hard
He was tired because he had been exercising so hard for two hours.
