What is symptom perception?
It happens once a health issue has been developt, its perception of internal signals that may or may not be a signal of something bad
- Over sensitivity

Yes there is

-Previous experiences, oneself or from others

- Context matters
What is perception?
Making use of sensory information
- Weighs in earlier experience, interpretation and understanding
What does the symptom perception model show?
How different factors can affect how one percieve a body signal
- Different components to it
- All these factors influence each others
What affects our behaviour in symptom perception model?
- What we pay attention to in our body
-How we appraise the signal, influence how we will act - Coping strategies
- These are all affected by emotions, cognition and behaviorism ( what behavior will be punished and/or rewarded)
How does the feedback influence the symptom perception model?
- The feedback take into account of the situation and consequences of behavior
Example-doing a certain move gives you a sharp pain, thus you try to avoid doing that same move again
Where could symptom perception come from?
A survival instict, searching for threats - according to evolutionary psychologist
What can symptom perception model explain?
Why some people experience symptomsunrelated to disease and why some remain sick after triggers or causes are gone
