SWA FOM Flashcards
1
Q
Stabilized approach criteria:
A
By 1000 feet about TDZE:
- the aircraft must be in planned configuration (landing gear down and landing flaps)
- the aircraft must be in the Vtarget speed range
- the aircraft must be on appropriate glidepath
at 500 feet above TDZE:
-for approaches where maneuvering is required, the aircraft is on and maintianing centerline with wings essentially level.
2
Q
What does it mean for the aircraft to be on appropriate glidepath with a normal descent rate for a stabilized approach?
A
Normal descent rate is 700-800 FPM. If you need a descent rate greater than 1000 FPM, make sure you brief that.
3
Q
Are LAHSO operations permitted?
A
Yes but you must consult the approved airports and runways which is found in the LAHSO approach airports table on the flight operations document record and applicable SIP.
