Rapid push with saline
-1st dose 6mg
-2nd dose 12mg (if required after 2 mins)
-3rd dose 12mg (if required after 2 mins)
Protocol for inadequately perfused Adult
Midazolam 1mg increments
AND
Synchronised cardioversion
-1st dose 100J
-2nd dose 150J (if required)
What is the aim of Midazolam prior to cardioversion
Amnesia and drowsiness with ability to respond to verbal stimuli
NOT indicated for post procedure retrograde amnesia
What dose of Midazolam do we give prior to cardioversion
1mg increments up to a total max of 5mg
