Difference in severe asthma management between adults and kids?
A
Salbutamol given every 20 mins up to max of 3 and Ipratropium only once
Oral prednisolone 1mg/kg up to a max of 50mg

Management of Life-threatening Asthma in Paediatrics?
A
Salbutamol continuous
Ipratropium every 20 mins up to a max of 3 doses
Magnesium: 0.1mmol/kg to max 10mmol over 20 mins
-made to 50mL with saline via driver
-in 100mL bag to jsut under 2 drops/sec
Saline: 10mL/kg max 250mL aliquots to a total of 20mL/kg
Hydrocortisone: 4mg/kg to max 250mg
Adrenaline:
-IM 10mcg/kg to 500mcg every 5 mins
-IV Syringe: start at 0.5mcg/kg/min and adjust by 0.1mcg/kg/min
-Manual: 0.5mcg/kg/min where 1 drop/sec is 6mcg/min
