-Titrate to GCS and BGL

A

Gently dry buccal mucosa
Oral glucose gel 0.5mL/kg using a 3mL syringe
Gently massage buccal mucosa

Management of Paediatric Hypoglycaemia (BGL <3.5mmol/L)?

A

Oral Carbohydrates / Oral Glucose
-15g
OR
IM Glucagon
- <25kg 0.5mg Glucagon
- >25kg 1mg Glucagon
OR
IV/IO Glucose 10%
-Start at 2mL/kg
-titrate against GCS and BGL
-Follow with Saline 1mL/kg max dose 5mL/kg
