What are the two flash techniques?
1)Feathered flash- helps reduce or eliminate shadows - the angle of the flash ensures that the shadows will fall behind the exhibit
(White paper is taped to the wall, object placed in paper. Detachable flash is used, held above lens and angled slightly over bottle.
2) Bounce Flash- bouncing flash off the ceiling or any other high, white object allows light to fall on exhibit from above and shadows will fall underneath
- light from bounced flash will take on color of the surface off which it is bounced
What can we do to reduce shadows?
We can use a black background
Or
Light table- Light coming from below and above eliminates shadows
What are two recommended types of lighting in studio photography?
Flash
Continuous light
