Tearing of collagen due to over contracting/ stretching

A
Two joint muscles
Eccentric contraction (deceleration phase)
Higher percentage of type 2 muscle fibres

Mobilisation ASAP
Strength/loading
Proprioception
Endurance training

What are sprains?

A

Stretch and/ or tear of ligaments
Usually caused by outside force causing movement out of ROM
Most recover with conservative management
