AP Hip: Patient Positioning
-Patient stands upright or recumbent with the posterior aspect of the affected iliofemoral region touching the grid and centered on the image receptor
-Patient internally rotates 15 degrees
AP Hip: Central Ray Position
Through the hip joint, approximately 1” below the midpoint between the ASIS and symphysis pubis
AP Hip: Collimation
10 x 12”
AP Hip: Breathing Instructions
Suspended respiration/motion (“Don’t breathe and don’t move”)

-Knee/hip are both flexed to approximately 90 degrees and fully abducted with the lateral aspect touching grid

Through the hip joint, approximately 1” below the midpoint between the ASIS and symphysis pubis on the affected side

To the size of the receptor (10 x 12”)
