A

Within 10 mins

17
Q

If leaving a unit on a dead end line with buffer stops displaying a red or white light, what colour lights must you display? explain both answers

A

Red buffer light = red both ends White buffer light = red light at rear, white facing oncoming traffic.

18
Q

Hand signals at night - You must not start or continue any movement until?

19
Q

If you lose sight of the shunters hand signal, what must you do?

A

Stop Immediately Only restart the movement when communication has been reistablished and you receive a correct hand signal

A

Stop 2mtrs (6ft 6ins) away. Draw forward closing gap to a distance set out by traction unit instructions. Only move forward when authorised by shunter (if available).

23
Q

On a line with points worked by signal box, what action will the signaller give you to grant permission to make a movement across the points (Both day and night action) & how will you the driver acknowledge the signal/action, when movement is complete?

A

Day - signaller will raise one arm above head Night - signaller will quickly twist a white light Driver to acknowledge - one short blast of the horn

24
Q

If you are required to make a propelling movement outside of a worksite, where will you find the authority and where published?

A

In the WON and/or Engineering notices

25

A

Stop immediately Do not restart movement until communication regained and you are sure any signal is for you.

26
Q

In what 3 locations can you couple or uncouple a traction unit?

Q

List the 12 authorities for Propelling and where will you find the authority?

A

B - Breakdown train O - Officers special train (right direction) G - Point worked by GF W - Wrong routed O - Over run O - Working to/from obstruction D - Disabled train (removing/clearing) S - Single line movement F - Front portion to rear A - Sectional appendix (locations shown in) B - Signal box (within limits) S - Shunting movement (TCB line to clear 1 main aspect) Found in Sectional Appendix
