What are two types of cell referencing?

A

Relative: The cell address changes in relation to its location. For example: A2 when copied to the next column becomes B2; if copied one row down, it becomes A3.
Absolute: The cell address does not change in relation to its location. For example: $A$2 when copied across columns or rows remain the same.

  • To lock a row only : (A$2)
  • To lock a column only: ($A2)
  • To lock both column and row: ($A$2)
