What is an attitude?
A predisposition to act a certain way towards something or someone in a persons environment
What is Triandis (1977) definition do an attitude?
n idea charged with emotion which predisposes a class of actions to a particular class of social situations
What is Mednick (1975) definition of attitude?
It is a predisposition to act in a certain way towards some aspect of a persons environment, including other people
What is prejudice?
When an attitude is based on false information and is an unfair generalisation
What are the components of an attitude?

What is the Triassic model?
It includes the three components of an attitude. That being; belief, emotions and behaviour

This is the cognitive element

This is the affective element

This is the behavioural element

That attitudes are formed through influences of the three elements

How are our beliefs formed?
- Through past experiences

Through past experiences - if we experience satisfaction in a certain situation, we are more leukotomy to look forward to liking the experiences
How is our behaviour influenced?
- We are more likely to behave in a way that reflects our attitude but behaviour isn’t always consistent with our attitude
E.g believe that exercise is good for us and enjoy participating but may not exercise much
