A fibrous defect which develops on one or both sides of the neural arch at the pars interarticularis between the superior and inferior articular processes
2
Q

- Trauma
4
Q
What are S/S of spondylolysis?
A
- Pain when fibrous tissue is stretched
- If Bilateral, vertebrae is divided into two parts
- Abnormal x-ray
5
Q
What is the treatment for spondylolysis?
A
- Stabilize the spine
- surgery
- bracing (PT ensures compliance)
- strengthening (PT’s domain too) - Pain reduction
- modalities
- medications
6
Q
What is spondylolisthesis?
A
- a forward slipping of one vertebral body in relation to the segment below
- most common between L5 and S1
7
