Spirometry Flashcards
1
Q
What is the tidal volume
A
1.500ml in and out
2.Amount of volume moving in and out when rest breathing
3.When breathing in its tidal volume inspiratory and when breating out it is tidal volume expiratory
2
Q
What is Forceful breathing
A
- After breathing in (TVI) there is a forcefull breath in which is known as the inspiratory reserve volume (2800)
- After breathing out in (TVE) there is a forceful breath out which is known as the expiratory reserve volume(1200)
3
Q
What is residual volume
A
- The air left in the lungs so the lungs dont collase and the alveoli stays open (1200)
4
Q
What is the inspiratory and expiratory capacity
A
- The inspiratory is the total volume of air breathed in so TVI+ IRV
- The expiratory is the total volume of air breathed out so TVE+ ERV
5
Q
What is the functional residual capacity
A
1.The amount of air breathed in and out the lungs when rested ERV+RV
6
Q
What is the Vital capacity
A
Total volume of forceful breathe in and out TVI&E + ERV+IRV
7
Q
What is the Total lung capacity?
A
Total volume of air that can be occupied in your lungs RV+ERV+IRV + TVI&E
