What are epithelia’s functions

A
  1. Protection- covering and lining the hollow such as the stomach
  2. Filteration
  3. Absorption

Q

What is the outer and inside layers called and what is beneath the layers ?

A

Apical is outer and basal is inner
There are 2 types of lamina, these are made from connective tissue and they tell the epithelia not to penerate it

Q

What are the different types of simple tissue, what are they used for and where are they located?

A

1.Simple squamous is used for absorption and filteration, it is located in the alveoli for gas exchange
2.Simple cubodial is used for absorption and secretion, it is loacted in the GIT for absorption of H20 (Large diameter)
3.Simple columnar is used for absorption and filteration (large diameter), loacted in the GIT for mucus production
