LOSS OF CONTROL/SPINNING (2W)

A
  1. THROTTLE - IDLE
  2. CONTROLS - CENTRALISE
  3. RECOVER FROM DIVE
    If a spin is positively identified:
  4. THROTTLE - CONFIRM IDLE
  5. TURN NEEDLE - IDENTIFY DIRECTION OF SPIN
  6. RUDDER - APPLY FULL OPPOSITE TO TURN NEEDLE
  7. CONTROL COLUMN - MOVE PROGRESSIVELY FORWARD WITH CENTRALISED AILERONS
    Warning: If out-spin aileron is applied during recovery, the recovery will be prolonged and may be prevented.
    When rotation ceases:
  8. CONTROLS - CENTRALISE
  9. RECOVER FROM DIVE
    If rotation has not ceased after four turns:
  10. CONTROL COLUMN - CONFIRM FULL FORWARD AND APPLY FULL AILERON IN DIRECTION OF TURN NEEDLE
    If confused as to direction of turn or correct recovery controls:
  11. REMOVE HANDS AND FEET FROM CONTROLS. The aircraft will recover in 2 to 3 turns (800 to 1,600 ft height loss plus dive recovery)
    If no sign of recovery by 4,000 ft AO:
  12. EXECUTE AIRCRAFT ABANDONMENT CHECKLIST
    Warning: Spin recovery should be initiated no lower then 4,500 ft AO
