Fuel Flashcards

Q

ROUGH RUNNING (1N)

A
  1. BOOST PUMP - LOW
  2. MIXTURE - FULL RICH
  3. LAND AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE USING MINIMUM PRACTICAL POWER
Note: Selecting mixture to full rich above 4,000 ft may result in slight rich running. If this occurs, lean the mixture until the rough running ceases. If rough running continues, proceed as above.
Monitor engine temperatures and pressures. Abnormal CHT or oil indications may be indicative of an imminent mechanical failure. Abnormal fuel flow may indicate a blocked injector, fuel line rupture or fuel vaporisation as the cause of rough running.

Q

FUEL VAPORISATION (Non-Boldface) (1C)

A
  1. Throttle - Idle
  2. Emergency Boost Pump - On
Caution: With the emergency boost ON, the mixture control will have to be used to set the desired fuel flow to prevent the possibility of a rich cut.
  3. Throttle - as required
    When fluctuations cease:
  4. Emergency boost pump- OFF
