What is level 1 staging?

Answer 1

Incoming units stage near the incident, in a direction towards the incident. Engine companies should position at the nearest hydrant.

What is level 2 staging?

Incoming units report to a designated staging area identified by the IC

Who is the staging area manager? What are their responsibilities?

First arriving officer

• Accountability of units assigned to staging
• Maintaining communications w/ IC on a separate channel
• Assign units from staging to the incident
• Maintain minimum level of resources in staging determined by the IC
