- negative attitudes have to be changed to a positive one to get someone to participate

- usually have a positive influence on participation
- someone for people to look up to and aim to be like (may try the sport they play)

Positive effects of stimulants
Reduce reaction times, increase aggressiveness, reduces fatigue

Agreeing to play by the rules, trying to win but also allowing your opponent to play

Techniques or substances used for the purposes of enhancing performance

Using dubious methods that are not strictly illegal, to gain an advantage

The unwritten rules or customs concerning player behaviour

Appropriate, polite and fair behaviour while participating and using etiquette in a sporting event
