Since the farming was not good in New England, people wanted to get into business to make money instead of barely surviving on farming

Samuel Slater
A British man who worked in a factory in Britain that escaped Britain and memorized the ideas of a British man and came to America to build his own factory
Agriculture expands in west and south
Businesses wanted farm- grown materials like cotton for their businesses and with the growing businesses, they needed more of it and there began a big demand for things like cotton
Technology formed during Industrial Revolution that helped it go farther
The cotton gin, interchangeable parts, and more efficient mills
Development of Cities
Cities were developed when people wanted to be close to the mills for work and the cities also had great business opportunities like restaurants and shops
Francis Cabot Lowell and the factory system
He opened the first mill that had all the stages of cloth making in one mill to increase efficiency which is basically the factory system

How capitalism and free enterprise lead to industrial growth
Capitalism helped American industry because people would invest in businesses to help them grow and those businesses would help the economy. Free enterprise helped American industry because if people are free to do whatever they want, people will make investments and people will want to succeed and make businesses which help the economy
Interchangeable parts
The use of identical machine parts that could be quickly put together to make a complete product and was invented by Eli Whitney

Second Bank of the United States
The second national bank in the United States that had the power to make large loans to businesses and conduct monetary affairs for the country
Patent
It gives an inventor the legal right to the invention and its profits for 7 years
Cotton gin
A simple machine made by Eli Whitney that quickly and efficiently removed the seeds from the cotton fiber and allowed one worker with a cotton gin to work as fast as 50 people working by hand
