- unequal treatment of people who are entitled to the same rights
- can stop people from getting:
education, job, buying a house etc
gender discrimination
- eg. women in the workplace
- men at home
- women earning less than a man doing the same job
- discrimination against a person / group based on the grounds of gender
age discrimination
- discrimination against a person / group based on the grounds of age
racial discrimination
- against the law
- discrimination against a group / person based on their racial background
- illegal to do so, based on their racial bacground
- i.e not getting a job

Stereotype
Identification of a person as a member of a group due to the features they share
Is a form of social categorisation
being stereotyped may cause you not to be viewed as an individual

Process of identifying a person as a member of a certain group
What is a zitizen
A member of the community, member of the country or belonging to a country or state
Citizen Participation
Actively involved in the community
Citizenship
Active involve more than just belonging to a country involves all groups of people the rights and responsibilities of a citizen promotes concept of participation
Social Justice
- Rights of all people that are considered in a fair and equitable manor
Rights of all people in the community. - Targets the marginalised and disadvantaged
- Tries to meet equality
Four principles of Social justice
Participation
- Enables people to participate in decisions which affect their lives
Access
- Ensure everyone has access to all goods and services
Equity
- Ensure fair distribution of resources
Rights
- Protect individual liberties to information
- Appeal to unfair decisions
Human Rights
inalienable rights each person is entitled to due to being human
- Morale principles set out
regularly protected as legal rights in national and international law
Human Trafficking
Trade in humans for the purpose of sexual slavery, forced labour, commercial sexual exploitation
