interpersonal attraction

A

phenomenon of liking other people.

factors influencing:
appearance
similarity - attitudes, education, beliefs, but opposites can attract if differences are complimentary
self disclosure - can share thoughts, fear, goals, involves reciprocity (mutual sharing)
reciprocity - we like people who like us
proximity - like people who are physically close, familiar

amygdala - activated in threatening situation = aggression

prefrontal cortex - modulates agression, controls impulsiveness
