What is continuous training
Working the entire body for long periods of time
What is Fartlek training?
Its a method of training for runners where the terrain and speed are constantly changing.
What is circuit training?
Itks a series of exercises completed for a certain amount of tim/reps, after one another
What is interval training?
Physical training involving alternating stages of high and low-intensity activity
What is plyometric training?
Exercises where muscles use maximum force in short intervals of time
What is weight training?
Involves shifting weight to increase the strength of the muscle using programme of exercises.
What does aerobic class do?
Exercises to music covering a variety of exercises. This helps to improve cardiovascular fitness, strebgth, flexibility and muscular endurance
What does body pump class do?
Exercises o music using low weights , lots of reps and lots of exercises. Helps cardiovascular fitness, muscular endurance and flexibility
What does Pilates class do?
Core exercises which focuses on quality not quantity. Does a range of movements and helps with stress and movement. Helps with aerobic and anaerobic, develops muscular endurance and flexibility
What does yoga class do?
Exercises that focus on postures or pose. Boosts physical and emotional well-being. Emphasises on quality of the exercise. Develops muscular endurance and flexibility.
What does spinning class do
Areobic and anaerobic exercises on a stationary bike. Develops muscular endurance
Name the 6 methods of training
Continuos, fartlek, circuit, weight, interval and plyometric
Advantages and disadvantages of continuous training
Improves COF, lots of locations. Doesn’t help anearobic and can be boring
Advantages and disadvantages of fartlek
Variety of terrains, can include reps. Might not be suitable terrain, difficult to monitor
Advanatges and disadvantages of circuit
Many components of fitness, good source of all roumd fitness. Set up and planned out, people often pace themselves
