What is PARQ
Physical activity readiness questionare. A self screening tool that can be used for anyone planning to start an exercise pr training routine
Why are warm ups important
Prepares muscles,joints, cardiovascular system, ligaments. Helps to prevent injury
Cardiovascular warm-up?
Gradually rising heart rate to get to working heart rate. 10-15 mins
Warm up:stretching?
Static:on the spot without straining. Dynamic: use movements specific to the sport. Gradually increases your speed and reach
Warm up:sport specific
Anything to get you ready for the training. E.g goalkeeper: catching crosses
Cool down
Returning the heart rate gradually to its resting level. Static ones are usually held for 30-35 secs. Takes around 10-15 mins
What does SMART stand for
Specific,measurbale, achievable,realistic, time-bound
What does specific mean
Knowing what your goal is and isn’t too broad. E.g extra 100m on cooper run
What does measurable mean
You will know when the goal is achieved
What does achievable mean?
It is attainable. More achievable to do 30 press ups in a minute than 60
What does realistic mean
Ways that may hinder your completion. Flr example gym might be shut
What does time-bound mean
Does it have an end point
