What is power

A

The ability to undertake strength performances quickly. It can be written as a formula

power= strength x speed

Sprinters need power when driving out the blocks, discuss throwers also would need power to launch the object ( discuss)

A

Ability to change position and control body at speed (needed by a winger in football when sharply dropping shoulder to change direction to beat defender

Balance

A

Being able to keep the body stable while on rest or on the move

The 2 types of balance are: Static balance ( keeping body stable while stationary)e.g: doing handstand in gymnastics
Dynamic balance ( maintaining a controlled,stable position while in movement).e.g: hammer throw

What is Reaction time

A

The time between a stimulus and a movement in response to it. In most sports, the signal for a reaction is a sight stimulus.
