Working the entire body for a long period of time, it imporves your cardiovascular fitness. Positives is that it can be done practically anyway, however a negative is that it doesnt improve anaerobic fitness
What Fartlek training
Originated in sweden and means speed play. Includes periods of work followed by periods of rest includes sprints of varying distances
What are advantages of continuous training
-cheap
-can be done in variety of places
Disadvantages of continuous training
-can be boring
-doesn’t improve anaerobic fitness
Advantages of fartlek training
-can be done on a variety of terrains
-can include reps
Disadvantages of fartlek training
Difficult for coach to monitor
- may not be many suitable terrains

A series of exercises completed for a certain amount of time/reps after one another

-can combine many components of fitness
-can include aerobic and anaerobic training

Physical training involving alternating stages high and low intensity activity
