A
A substance that can be taken in a variety of ways to produce expected and welcome physical and/or phycological effects. They can increase the level of performance, but can cause some side effects that are unpleasant.

Why do people take PED’s?

- Improves performance
- People are encouraged by their coaches or other athletes
- Reward of winning is worth the risk for money

Blood doping
A
Boosting the number of red blood cells in the bloodstream in order to improve your performance. As red blood cells carry oxygen to the muscles, having a higher concentration of these in your blood can improve VO2 max and increase your endurance
