The most important component of fitness for a cm in football is, cardiovascular fitness as they need to be able to track back quickly and consistently throughout the whole 90 minutes of a game. A cm would also need good muscular strength and endurance so that they are able to win the ball off someone and start a counter attack. Good flexibility will allow a cm to have a bigger stride which will allow them to run quicker.
