A

CNS: Fatigue, Sedated, lethargy, drowsiness, dry eyes, dry mouth, bad dreams
CV: Hypotension, Heart failure, bradycardia

What are the nursing implications?

A

Do not stop abruptly (rebound hypertension)
Given oral or transdermal for HTN
Hx: contraindication/cautions
CNS: cardiac, respiratory, abdominal, urinary, perfusion
Vitals, ECG
Labs: electrolytes, renal/hepatic function, glucose
Take apical pulse; hold if below 60
Monitor blood glucose
Lifestyle changes
change position slowly
Do not crush extended-release formulations
