What is this:
Taking antiobiotcs/phenytoin/ septra/penicillin
Acute onset of bullae rash and hemorrhagic lesions, mucosal involvement, blisters to conjunctiva, mouth, genitals
Steven Johnson Syndrome
Name the conditons associated with the rash
- Erythema Marginatum
- Erythema Migrans
- Erythema multiforme
- Erythema Infectiosum
- Erythem Toxicum
- Erythema Marginatum -> rheumatic fever
- Erythema Migrans –> lyme
- Erythema multiforme –> mild form of steven-johnson drug rx
- Erythema infectiosum—> 5th disease (slapped cheek b19 paro)
- Erythem Toxicum–>Infant acnes 1-2 weeks small red pustules

Name the rash:
pinpoint areas of bleeding remain in the skin when a plaque is
removed
Auspitz sign
This is from psoriasis
What is Koebner phenomenon?
new psoriatic plaques form over areas of skin trauma
Name the rash:
pruritic erythematous plaques covered with fine silvery white
scales and pitted fingernails and toenails.
The plaques are distributed in the scalp,
elbows, knees, sacrum, and in the intergluteal folds.
Psoriasis

- bullous/vesicular/weeping
- dries and crusts over
-asymmetric distribution
no systemic symptoms
Contact dermatitis
name the rash:
- painful rash to face or legs
- indurated (hard) bright red skin lesion
-has very distinct edges - pt may or may not be febrile
erysipelas
What medication is used to treat dog, cat, human bite?
amoxi/clauv
if you are bitten by a dog/cat/human do you start antibiotics prophylactically?
cats- ALWAYS
dog/human - almost always only if its face/hand/uppper limb
How do you treat impetigo ?
if there are less than 2-3 lesions = mupirocin ointment
if bullae or widespread Cephalexin 10 days
name the rash:
pruritic rashes located in the interdigital webs, axillae, buttock
folds, waist, and the penis.
The itching is worse at nighttime and interferes with sleep.

Can be caused by IDA, infection, etc
Cheilosis
name the difference between:
1st
2nd
third
degree burns
1) erythema only no blisters
2) bullae blisters
3) PAINLESS
How can you differentiate contact dermatitis from atopic dermatitis?
Contact dermatitis: asymmetric distribution (one leg), liner rash or unusually shaped
Atopic Dermatitis: flexural folds, vesicles, that rupture producing painful bright weepy lesions that become lechienfied from itching
name the rash:
Chronic inflammatory skin disease manifested as recurrent inflammatory nodules, abscesses, sinus tracts, and complex scar formation
“acute onset of painful red nodules and pustules under one or
both axilla. The patient reports that some of the lumps start to drain pus. History of recurrent episodes”
