Achondroplasia
Disorder of growth of cartilage at the epiphyses of long bones and skull. Results in dwarfism.
Muscular Dystrophy
Inherited progressive atrophy of skeletal muscle without neural involvement.
Polydactyly
More than five fingers or toes on each hand or foot.
Spina bifida occulta
Congenital malformation of bony spinal canal without involvement of spinal cord.
Syndactyly
Joining of fingers or toes giving a webbed appearance
Talipes
Deformity resulting in abnormal twisting of the foot. Clubfoot
Torticollis
Contraction of the muscles of the neck. Called wryneck.
Osteomalacia
Softening of bone due to demineralization due to Vitamin D defieciency
Ostomyelitis
Infection of bone and marrow
Osteoporosis
Loss of bone mass, makes bones fragile and at risk for fractures
Osteopenia
Less severe form of Osteoporosis
Rickets
Osteomalacia occurring in childhood
Bunion
Common, painful enlargement of first metatarsophalangeal joint
(TMJ) Temporomandibular Joint Disorder
Dysfunctional temporomandibular joint accompanied by jaw pain.
Osteoarthritis
Joint disease characterized by degenerative articular cartilage. A “wear and tear” disorder. Also called degenerative joint disease (DJD)
