- Vagal Stimulation/having a BM

Why is sinus bradycardia normal in an athlete?
A
The heart chambers increase their capacity as the heart wall thickens to maintain adequate cardiac output despite a lower HR

NCLEX Interventions for Sinus Bradycardia
A
- If prescription med responsible for Brady; withhold med and notify HCP
- Administer oxygen as prescribed
- Avoid additional doses of atropine as tachycardia may result.
