What is Semekau landfill?

A

A landfill site, island enclosed by 7km long wall allowing 60 million metres cubed of waste, which can take all of Singapore’s waste until 2045

A

By trucks and barges that carry the waste to the offshore landfill

Why is Semekau special?

A

As once a cell is dull it is covered with earth and eventually flora and fauna take over, solving Singapores small size problem by adding land, one of the most eco-friendly landfills even having its own ecosystem
