Q

What are the positives of the AEB?

A

Started with a landfill tax in 1995 (tax on every tonne of material landfilled on companies giving them an incentive to look for other methods), the companies gave so much waste they could drop the tax, produces from incineration 1 million megawatts (MW) of electricity annually (for heating), 64% do waste is recycled (better for environment), saves green space, generates electricity, better than a landfill, employs around 400 people
