Shoulder Anatomy Flashcards
Subscapularis Muscle and Tendon
Connects the anterior portion of the scapula to the lesser Tuberosity of the humorous
Muscle functions to control internal rotation of the arm and aids moving an extended arm inward (adduction)
Largest and strongest of four muscles that compromise cuff
Suprasponatis muscle and tendon
Connect scapula superior to the scapular spine to the greater tuberosity of humerus
Muscle functions to initiate motions that lift the arm outward away from body (abduction)
Superior component of the rotator cuff
Teres Minor
Connects the middle of the lateral border of the scapula to the greater tuberosity.
Functions in conjunction with infraspinatus to control external rotations and moving extended arm inward
Infraspinatus muscle and tendon
Connect the body of the scapula below the scapular spine to the greater tuberosity
External rotation it controls.
Hill Sachs Deformity
Cortical depression in the posterolateral humeral head
