carbidopa

  • aromatic acid decarboxylase inhibitor which is the enzyme that converst L-DOPA to DA. Carbidopa can’t cross the BBB so it just inhibits this rxn in the periphery (reduce DA production in the periphery when L-DOPA is given)
  • Rx = Parkinson’s
  • side effect= same as L-DOPA since incr DA
