What does sensing assurance do?
Automatically adjusts the sensitivity to provide aggressive safety margins
How does sensing assurance work?
The device looks at 16 to 30 events and classifies them as low, medium or high, based on the Target Safety Margin. Based on this classification, the device slightly changes the sensitivity.
What causes the device to classify an event as “low”?
17 consecutive “low” events, or events <4x the programmed sensitivity, the device will increase the sensitivity
What causes the device to classify an event as “adequate”?
Waveforms between 4 and 5.6x the programmed sensitivity
What are the targets for bipolar/unipolar leads?
Bipolar: 4.0-5.6mV, Unipolar: 2.8-4.0mV
What causes the device to classify an event as “high”?
35 consecutive “high” waveforms, or waveforms >5.6x the programmed sensitivity, the device will decrease the sensitivity
What are the interlocks when the device is programmed to unipolar?
Device cannot be programmed to be more sensitive than 0.5mV
How is sensing assurance nominally programmed?
ON at 0.5mV
What are the interlocks for this algorithm?
To make the device less sensitive than 0.5mV, sensing assurance must be turned “Off”.
