PVARP/PMT Intervention Flashcards
What three key benefits does Auto PVARP achieve?
Prevent retrograde conduction, allow for higher 2:1 block point and prevent fast tracking of atrial arrhythmias before mode switch.
What is Auto PVARP?
An adaptive setting for PVARP that varies based on the mean atrial rate (rolling window of 4 beats)
What are the nominal settings for Auto PVARP?
AUTO and 250ms minimum PVARP
How does Auto PVARP work?
Every 4 pacing cycles the 2:1 block point is calculated at 30 bpm greater than the mean atrial rate. PVARP is then adjusted so that TARP = the calculated 2:1 block point.
What happens if the minimum PVARP is reached and the 2:1 block point is still too low?
SAV can be decreased
What is the minimum adjustable 2:1 block point for Auto PVARP?
100 bpm
What is the maximum adjustable 2:1 block rate for Auto PVARP?
100 bpm + 35 bpm
How does mode switch affect 2:1 block rate for Auto PVARP?
2:1 block rate can be MSw detect rate if < UTI calculation
What is PMT Intervention?
An algorithm that aims to terminate PMT
What are the programming details for PMT Intervention?
Nominally OFF and operates only in atrial tracking modes.
How does PMT Intervention work?
Algorithm looks at 8 Vp-As intervals that are <400ms and on the 9th interval increases PVARP to 400ms.
