First choice when controlling power at structure fire?
Control power by throwing main circuit breaker on outside of structure.
Second choice when controlling power at structure fire?
If no exterior main circuit breaker, shot of main circuit on the interior breaker panel, but do not flip other circuits.
Third choice when controlling power at structure fire?
Wait for Idaho Power trouble man to pull meter or secure power.
Fourth choice when controlling power at structure fire?
Pull meter as absolute last resort only if firefighter or civilian life is immediately threatened. Request meter pull through command. Wear full tur-outs, gloves, helmet, and eye protection.

Close quarter turn valve
Second choice when controlling gas at structure fire?
Avoid attempting to turn valves at commercial occupancies as it can be difficult to determine which valve will stop gas. Use Intermountain Gas.
Third choice when controlling gas at structure fire?
If fire involves meter, ensure control valve is intact before extinguishing. If control valve is destroyed, allow fire to burn and prevent extension.
Where is the valve located on a small propane tank?
On the top, potentially under a protective cover.
Where is the valve located on a large propane tank?
On the side or in a manifold box at one end.
