foreign dignitaries, change of commands, memorial day, veterans day, ships homecoming, units returning from deployment, air shows, and other similar occasions.
what are patriotic programs?
the themes are used for 4th of July, remember 9/11, or December 7th, salute to the military, holidays during deployment.
what is essential for patriotic programs?
well known music for nostalgic value.
what are patriotic openers?
short programs to open celebrations or highly visible public events.
what are some theme based programs?
ones that feature composers such as gershwin, copeland, or sousa. genre themes. geographical themes.
what is the goal of theme programming?
connect the listeners experience to the subject matter
