What is transposition?
Moving a note or group of notes higher or lower while maintaining their relative harmonic relationship and rhythmic notation.
Whats the most common way to transpose?
By scale degree
What is scale degree transposition?
Labeling each note by scale degree then write the same pattern in a different key.
Chromatic alterations may be needed to maintain intervallic consistency.
What is another method of transposition?
By interval
What are the different versions of transposition by interval
Identify inverval difference between original key and new key then transpose each note based on interval. Or established the first transposed note and then transpose based on the melodic intervals of the rest.
