- Red/white/speckles lesion
- Ulcerated areas that aren’t painful
- High risk sites
- Symptom free
- Unknown duration - patient unaware of it
- Risk factor history e.g. smoking, alcohol, underlying systemic

carbon dioxide laser

when excising a potentially malignant lesion what is removed?
A
the lesion and 5mm of normal tissue surrounding the lesion
