guidelines for heel lift

A

applied to side of short leg
final height should be 1/2-3/4 measured leg length discrepency (unless sudden cause of discrepancy then do full amount right away)
fragile patient: 1/16 of 1.5 mm to begin and increase every 2 weeks
flexible patient: 1/8 or 3.2 mm every 2 weeks
