Q

What type of lumen and muscle wall does each have?

A

Q

What do each do?

Q

Name two pieces of information about each.

A

RBC - smaller than white blood cells and have no nucleus (also carry oxygen and haemoglobin)
WBC - largest, kill bacteria by digesting them to create anti-bodies
Platelets - smallest, fragments of old cells (also clot blood)
Plasma - liquid part of blood, 90% water (also yellow coloured and carries nutrients, urea, CO2 and urea

Q

What is the function of blood?

A

To carry oxygen, to carry nutrients, hormones, and materials, to fight disease and to carry heat around the body.

16
Q

Why does our heart beat faster when we exercise?

A

Because the cells need energy and our heart beats faster to pump more blood and food around the body to each cell. We need to breathe faster to get more oxygen.
