What is Solvent?
Substances that dissolves solute into, for example. Water
What is Solute?
Substances that dissolves, like sugar cubes
What is Solution?
A solution is a mixture of both solute and solvent. For example, sugar cube combined with water, the sugar cube is still there.
What is Transparent in terms of solutions?
You can see through them, even if it has colours
What is opaque in terms of solutions?
Liquid that is not transparent, you cannot see through it. For example milk.
What is the difference between concentrated and diluted solution.
A concentrated solution has alot of solute/ sugar particles in it meanwhile a dilute solution has fewer solute/ solute particles.
What makes solute dissolve in solvent faster to become a solution
- Temperature Heat. The higher the temperature, the more active the particle becomes, therefore they move quicker
- Stirring, stirring can help spread the particles around the solvent easier to become a solution
