Cardiac Arrest –> conduction system malfunction, stops beating
Heart Attack –> coronary arteries blocked
Sudden Cardiac Arrest - Chain of Survival
ABCDE –> Early recognition and call for help
CPR - Early CPR
AED - Early Defibrillation
ABCDE - Post-resuscitation care

30 chest compressions
- 5-6cm depth
- 2 per second
- High quality
2 breath
Switch provider
Starting CPR –> heel of one hand in centre of victims chest (over LV)
Need to ensure this is correct in order to get the blood to parts of body, especially the brain
Rescue Breaths
2 breaths
Pinch soft part of nose closed, using the index finger and thumb of your hand on forehead. Allow mouth to open, but maintain chin lift (ensures open airway, tongue out of way)

- Attach electrode pads on victims bare chest
- Do not touch victim while AED is analysing the rhythm
