Q

What is the Windshear Escape Manoeuvre?

A
  1. PF or PM “WIND SHEAR”
  2. PF call “Wind Shear Escape”
  3. PF advances PL approx 80% TRQ and simultaneously pitches aircraft up to the go around attitide if on approach or higher than normal for lift off attitude on departure to check the rate of descent. Accept airspeed loss to that approaching stall warning/stick shaker speeds as applicable or until a rate of climb is commecned. DO NOT STALL. Climb Straight Ahead.
    > 4. PM applies RATED PWR or maximum continuous if conditions dictate and transmits “REX 123 Wind Shear Escape”

If on approach and ground contact no longer a possibility Normal go around procedures apply once PF calls “Going Around”

NOTE
delay flap and gear retraction is possibility of ground contact during escape is a factor. Do not retrim until stabilised conditions have been regained.
