Q
- When is the CRS (Certificate Release to Service) to be completed by the PIC?
A
- The PIC must complete a CRS when PIC maintenance action (M) or any approaved pilot maintenance has been completed to defer an AML in accordance with MEL/CDL procedures.
NOTE: A CRS must be issued when releasing an aircraft back to service following the completion of a maintenance procedure.
2
Q
- What are the defferal types and their associated time frames?
A
- MEL CAT A - Time specified in the remarks collumn of MEL.
- MEL CAT B - 3 consecutive celendar days (72 hours).
- MEL CAT C - 10 consecutive calendar days ( 240 hours).
- MEL CAT D - 120 consecutive calendar days (2880 hours).
- CDL - Defferals applied by flight crew are deferred for a period of 4 consecutive calendar days.
- NAD - maximum of 4 days.
Note: all exclude the day of discovery.

Q
- What is the purpose and application of FOR INFO on AML completions?
A
- FOR INFO can provide information to engineering using the AML where no defect exists but the FLight Crew believes the information would be useful.
- The information must preceed with the term FOR INFO. e.g. FOR INFO Ram Door Open light on in flight.
- Completion of Summary of Deferred Defects as per standard. FOR INFO only text requireed in the details of the Deferred Defect section. NO requirement to complete CRS.

Q
- Uncommanded Engine Operations:
* What cockpit indication would necessitate the actioning of Uncommanded Engine Operation Memory Items?
* What is the acceptable TQ fluctuation & would not require the memory items to be completed?
A
- If aircraft was recieving actual power variations, which would be any combination of fluctuations of TQ, ITT, Ng, Np, and Fuel Flow. Likely accompanied with aircraft yaw/roll and changes in engine noises. ( a single fuel flow gauge indicating zero or flucuating without any other associated indications does not require use of uncommanded engine ops procedure).
memeory items:
1. P/L - reduce to 20 - 30% (If TRQ indication lost or unreliable, set PL half inch approx 12mm above flight idle)
2. Condition lever - T/M then SET.
3. Autocoarsen - OFF.
- Up to 3% in the form of oscillation or minor movements repeatedly are acceptable, IF fluctuations disppear after Power Level, Ng or CL adjustment.
