S03 - E05 - C-Bet Range Flashcards
1
Q
C-Bet Range
Why range bet
A
- When our range advantage is very strong, we generate tons of fold equity by betting so often
- Betting so often with small sizes forces villain to call extremely wide
BTN vs BB K82rb
BB should call with: J7s/96s
with BDFD, somtimes even T9/QJ

- High paired boards.

You can c-bet more often as your position improves, i.e. as your range gets stronger.

Q
C-Bet Range
BTN vs CO, 3-Bet Pot
A
- Double BW boards
- All K-high and J-high flops
- Really disconnected Q-high flops, but not all. Villain usually calls with AQ
Vs tight/strong ranges, more caution is clearly warranted, e.g. on KJ4rb we can bet wide but not with everything

Q
C-Bet Range
BTN vs BB, SRP - Flops people think they should range bet
A
BTN vs BB, SRP
- K65rb, BTN checks 40%
- Too much resistance.
Q7s with BDFD
can continue, but not on K83rb
- Too much resistance.
- A-high boards, even disconnected,
A83
- Keep in mind we are very rarely range betting when OOP

Q
C-Bet Range
BTN vs CO, 3BP - Flops people thing they should range bet
A
BTN vs CO, 3BP
- Non-broadway A-high boards. Not even disconnected, e.g.
A63, A94
- In some spots we could go bigger, but best to simplify and stick to small sizes. E.g. 25%-33%, even 10% in some 3-bet/4-bet pots

Playing Turns after range betting
A
BTN vs BB, SRP
- With such a wide range our turn equity suffers, and our betting frequency should be quite low.
- On K82rb, BTN has 43%-50% equity across ALL turn cards.
- When we do bet, we usually use an overbetting strategy in SRP but not in 3BP
- The best turns for BTN are high cards; the worst are board-pairing turns
