Global Frequency

Global Frequency is an unbelievably important aspect to all that is poker.

BTN vs BB Global Frequency (GF)

  • High GF: Q72rb - All categories of hands can always bet
  • Low GF: 643tt - All categories of hands bet much less frequently

Playing Flush Draws

Out of Position as the preflop raiser

A

Middling Frequency Boards

  • Global frequency goes down when OOP, including flush draws

MP vs BTN - Boards 8-high and Below

  • Check virtually our entire range

Responding to a bet after checking

  • Again, we want to prioritize our nutty flush draws with weaker kickers
  • Combo draws are an exception simply because they have so much equity

Playing Flush Draws

In Position as the preflop caller

A

vs a C-Bet

  • Raise more with nut(ish) flush draws with low kickers, and check more with low flush draws

vs a Check

  • Rinse and repeat - just remember it’s really important to bet all of your flush draws at some frequency

Playing Flush Draws

Multiway Pots

A
  • You want to c-bet a lot less often in general, and this includes your flush draws (especially 8-high and lower)
  • Each extra player in the pot costs you a ton of equity
  • For “bluffs”, you’ll want to focus on higher-equity draws

Open 87hh in Lojack, everyone calls. Flop is QT3hh and it is checked to you.

  • C-betting would be a disaster. You’re too likely to be up against higher flush draws when getting multiway action
